MORE ABOUT ME
The production of my play, "June 8th, 1968," was not only great fun and lots of hard work, but the cast could not have been more perfect. We received a to-die-for review in the NY Times, along with other media. The lead in that play became a star; I landed a great agent who managed to find paying work for me in Hollywood. But I do feel like my television work made artistic directors dismiss me as a playwright. If I could change that, I would. My favorite activity when not writing is cooking - because no one tells you to redo it and very few people reject home-cooked food. It's tangible and nourishing. If I can't feed souls in theater seats, I can feed my loved ones. One of my proudest moments was when The Washington Post published my editorial. And I am thrilled with the volunteer work I do teaching creative writing to at-risk kids with the nonprofit, Groove NYC.
WHAT I'M WORKING ON
Currently, I am working on a play, "Home Invasion: A True Crime Story" that will be produced in May at EAG. I was asked to write a monologue about Pete Hegseth for the Anti-Fascist Cabaret that will go up in January at the cabaret, Caveat. And I am rewriting an immersive play about Edward Hopper and the sacrifices his wife, Jo, made for him.
