MORE ABOUT ME
I like to think my life has been defined by theatre. I saw “My Fair Lady” when I was eight, and theatre has remained an essential part of my life ever since. When the lights dim, and a show begins, I tear up – theatre is an emotional experience for me. I started acting at the age of 47 as a way to “start over” and reinvent myself after a difficult divorce. I auditioned for a role in “My Fair Lady” -- and when I was cast, I knew that was the play that had shaped my life. Over ninety plays later, acting is still my favorite thing to do. When roles for an older woman started to dwindle, I decided it was time to write my own plays and create the kinds of roles I wanted to do. I’ve always been a writer, but now it was time to be a dramatist and tell my personal story as well as stories about women – some based on research, some with a message, and some just for laughs. Writing plays gives me a lot of satisfaction – and a sense of peace. I’m just annoyed at myself that I waited this long to finally add playwriting to my resume!

WHAT I'M WORKING ON
Five years ago, I wrote a Zoom comedy that garnered a few awards and I finally turned it into a full-length comedy literally "with legs." Hoping to stage it this year. I'm just starting a new play about two successful women who find themselves adversaries in the fashion world--one in her 30s and one in her 70s. I like to write about women and discovering their commonalities.
