Jacquelyn Reingold

(Updated May 28, 2026) Jacquelyn Reingold is a playwright, TV writer, advocate, teacher. Her plays have been seen in New York at Ensemble Studio Theater, Naked Angels, Working Theater, HERE, Paradise Factory, MCC, Axial Theater; at Actors Theater Louisville, Portland Center Stage, Theater J, PlayLabs Minneapolis; at other theaters across the country; and in Dublin, Lima, London, Berlin, Hong Kong. Her newest play THE SAMOVAR was part of the Workshop Theater’s Spring Playwrights Intensive. FEAR LESS, a 2025 O’Neill finalist, had a workshop at EST in NYC, directed by Tamilla Woodard. KISS ME SOMEWHERE ELSE was read at The Tent theater, 2025, directed by Melia Bensussen. Her short play LUGGAGE won the “Audience Favorite, Best Director, and Best Actress” awards at the Short & Sweet Hollywood Festival, 2025. Her one-act LIKE MIRIAM was produced by the Axial Theater, NY, 2024. Honors include: Lilly Award as a playwright and advocate, Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays, EST-Sloan Commissions, Susan Smith Blackburn finalist, Oscar Ruebhausen Commission, plus Yaddo, Ucross, MacDowell, Hermitage residencies. She’s published in “Women Playwrights: Best Plays,” “Best American Short Plays,” by DPS, Smith & Kraus, Vintage, Samuel French, and she wrote the Preface to Applause Book’s “She Persisted: Short Plays and Monologues by Women over 40.” Several of her short plays are podcast-recorded by “Playing on Air.” TV writing includes THE GOOD FIGHT, GRACE AND FRANKIE, and all the IN TREATMENT episodes for Emmy nominated Hope Davis. Jacquelyn is a member or Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Tent Theater, an alum of New Dramatists, and a founding member of Honor Roll! She and Cheryl Davis are on a campaign to meet with every New York theater to advocate for women+ playwrights over-50, and they’re creating a list called “50 Plays by Women+ Over-50.” Jackie is also a mentor for Young Playwrights Ukraine.
