Amy Larson
Amy Larson was born and raised in Ohio. After graduating from Bowling Green University (BA-Theater Arts; BS-Secondary Ed.), she taught High School English and directed three productions as drama coach.
As an actress, Amy appeared in numerous stage productions in Ohio, San Francisco, Hawaii and Seattle. Amy relocated to Pasadena and received her Associate of Arts degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Favorite roles include Carnelle in "Miss Firecracker Contest", Sarah in "Seascape", Sheila in "A Day in the Death of Joe Egg" and Lettice in "Lettice & Lovage".
Amy has performed at Costa Mesa Playhouse, Studio Theatre (Long Beach) and Newport Theatre Arts. She is proud to have been a founding member, actor and publicist with the Alternative Repertory Theatre in Santa Ana.
For more than 25 years, Amy provided leadership to Orange County’s nonprofit community as Director of Development for Laguna Playhouse and The Wooden Floor (previously Saint Joseph Ballet). In 2012, she founded Poppyfield Consulting Services, to “put the profit in nonprofits”. Clients included WISEPlace, Laguna College of Art & Design, Laguna Beach Live, Idyllwild Community Center, Chuck Jones Center for Creativity, Friends of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and The Guilds of Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
Now happily retired, Amy is a Partner and Legacy Circle member with Impact Giving, a women’s collective giving nonprofit based in Laguna Beach. She served on the Board of Directors for six years; her last three as Board Chair. Larson has served on the Board of Leadership Tomorrow, Executive Board of The Guilds of Segerstrom Center and as Membership Co-Chair for American Association of University Women Laguna Beach.
Amy is married to Jake Smith - finally a stage romance that worked out. She enjoys travel, writing, reading, music of all kinds, theatre and dance.

MORE ABOUT ME
My life was changed at the age of 12 when my grandparents took me to see my first professional theatrical production "Carousel". I was hooked on the magic and power of theater and have been passionate about it ever since. I am excited to take on new challenges as a playwright. Thanks to Diana Burbano for introducing me to Honor Roll.
WHAT I'M WORKING ON
I am working on a play (probably a one-act) focused on 3 sisters dealing with some of the challenges that come with aging. Current working title -"No Place for Sissies".
